Jacques Zafra

Composer and Music Educator

Jacques is currently studying a Ph.D. in Composition at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD). Before moving to Leipzig, Germany where he studied a post-master and a master's degree, he did a double major in Composition and Music Theory in Mexico City. 

He has taught music classes including composition, music theory, guitar and piano for 10 years to both children and adults of all levels.

At the moment Jacques is teaching Fundamentals of Music Theory at UCSD but he also offers online private lessons in either English, Spanish or German.

In general, classes can cover topics such as Composition, Orchestration, Music Theory, Analysis and the use of software like Adobe Illustrator, Final Cut Pro, Sibelius, and introduction to MaxMSP.


The duration of the sessions can be 60, 90 or 120 minutes, either weekly or biweekly.
