Violin

Description
a kind of ism for violin and tape was composed as part of Resiliencia sonora, a commissioning program by the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) dedicated to contemporary approaches in electroacoustic and mixed music.
The piece explores the relationship between instrumental gesture and fixed electronic media, focusing on processes of temporal friction, resonance, and perceptual displacement. The tape part does not function as accompaniment, but as a parallel sonic layer that challenges the violin’s sense of agency, memory, and continuity.
Rather than pursuing synchronization or imitation, the work unfolds through moments of convergence and divergence between the live performer and the electronic medium, emphasizing listening as an active and unstable process.
